Concourse D Info & Layout
Concourse D at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is a vital part of Departure Hall 2 and plays a significant role in managing both Schengen and non-Schengen flights. It is the largest pier at Schiphol and features two levels. The lower level is dedicated to non-Schengen flights, while the upper level handles Schengen flights. This dual-level setup allows the same jetways to be used for different types of flights, with Schengen gates numbered from D-59 upwards and non-Schengen gates from D-1 to D-57.
Concourse D is a hub for major airlines, particularly those in the SkyTeam alliance, including KLM and Delta Air Lines. Other prominent airlines such as China Airlines and China Southern Airlines also operate from this concourse.
Travelers passing through Concourse D can enjoy a variety of amenities. The airport is known for its extensive shopping areas, including duty-free shops and other retail outlets. Additionally, the concourse offers dining options and various passenger services to enhance the travel experience.
Access to Concourse D is seamless due to Schiphol's one-terminal concept, which connects all facilities under a single roof. Passengers can walk between concourses and halls, with security and border control separating Schengen and non-Schengen areas. The airport's central location, Schiphol Plaza, serves as a hub for both travelers and visitors, featuring a pre-security shopping center and the Schiphol Airport railway station.
Unique features of Concourse D include its efficient dual-level design and its integration into the larger terminal structure, which allows for easy connections to other parts of the airport. This design not only facilitates smooth passenger flow but also maximizes the use of space and resources within Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
