Getting Around DAL Airport

DAL Airport features a single main terminal with 20 gates, simplifying navigation for travelers. Gates are sequentially numbered from 1 to 20. Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines operate from one gate each, and Southwest Airlines uses the remaining eighteen gates. This layout means that once you're inside the terminal, finding your gate is straightforward due to the linear sequence of gate numbers.

In addition to the main terminal, JSX operates from a private terminal located on the north side of the airport. If you're flying with JSX, you'll need to head to this separate facility. For moving between these two areas, it's good to plan a bit of extra time. Inside the main terminal, amenities and services are positioned centrally, making them accessible from any gate. Here are some tips to help you navigate inside the terminal:

  • Check the overhead signs for directions to your gate, restrooms, and other facilities.
  • If you need assistance, look for airport staff or information desks strategically located throughout the terminal.

Discover details about TSA PreCheck and Global Entry programs, including how to enroll or renew your membership. Additionally, find out where CLEAR lanes are situated and take advantage of limited-time offers for expedited security services. This guide ensures you are well-prepared for a smooth and efficient security screening experience.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

DAL has four security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The checkpoints are located at the entrance of each terminal, with two in the main terminal and one in each of the satellite terminals. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their flight to allow enough time for security screening.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Passengers who are members of TSA PreCheck or CLEAR can use the designated fast track lanes at Dallas Love Field Airport. TSA PreCheck lanes are available at all four security checkpoints, while CLEAR lanes are located at the main terminal and satellite terminals. These lanes allow eligible passengers to bypass the regular security lines and expedite the screening process.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

Dallas Love Field does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling to international destinations from Dallas Love Field will need to connect through another airport with international flights and go through passport and immigration control at that airport.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

DAL Airport has several TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the airport to help expedite the security screening process for passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to enjoy a faster, more efficient screening experience by keeping on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leaving laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To use TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply for the program and be approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Check out the security checkpoint wait times by visiting this wait times guide.

Global Entry Locations

The airport is a designated Global Entry location, which allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. Global Entry members can use automated kiosks to complete their customs declaration and biometric scanning, which can save time and hassle. To become a Global Entry member, travelers must apply online and complete an in-person interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. Love Field has a Global Entry Enrollment Center located on-site for added convenience.

CLEAR Lane Locations

CLEAR Plus lanes are located in Terminal 1, on the west side of the security checkpoint.

Visit our Security Wait Times page for information on the operational times of TSA checkpoints and CLEAR Plus.
