JFK Terminal 7 Map & Guide

This page provides insights into Terminal 7 at New York Kennedy Airport, covering its history, airlines served, and passenger amenities, along with access information and future plans for redevelopment.

Terminal 7 Info & Layout

Terminal 7 at New York Kennedy Airport primarily handles international flights and is operated by a consortium of foreign carriers. It was originally designed by GMW Architects and built in 1970 for British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) and Air Canada. The terminal has undergone several renovations, with the most significant expansion completed in 2003.

Currently, Terminal 7 hosts airlines such as Alaska Airlines, Air Canada Express, All Nippon Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Aer Lingus, Condor, Frontier Airlines, HiSky, Icelandair, Kuwait Airways, Norse Atlantic Airways, and Sun Country Airlines. Despite its international focus, the terminal is not equipped to handle the Airbus A380 aircraft.

Terminal 7 features 12 gates and offers a range of amenities and services to travelers. Although British Airways previously operated the terminal, it has since relocated, and the terminal is now managed by JFK Millennium Partners, a consortium including JetBlue, RXR Realty, and Vantage Airport Group. Plans are underway to eventually demolish Terminal 7 and replace it with a new Terminal 6.

Passengers can access Terminal 7 via the AirTrain JFK, which connects all terminals at the airport. This automated transport system facilitates easy movement between terminals, although most inter-terminal connections require re-clearing security. The terminal's location and connections make it a convenient choice for travelers flying with the airlines it serves.

Terminal 7 is noteworthy for its historical significance as the only terminal in the United States once operated by a foreign carrier, British Airways. It also played a role in the era of supersonic travel, hosting Concorde flights until 2003. Despite its age, Terminal 7 continues to serve as a vital hub for international travel at JFK Airport.
