Aeromexico Airlines Pet Policy
Aeromexico Airlines welcomes pets on their flights, allowing them to travel in both the cabin and as checked baggage. If you are planning to travel with your furry friend, here are some important details you need to know.
Pets in the Passenger Cabin: Aeromexico allows small cats or dogs to fly in the cabin, as long as the flight duration is less than 6 hours. Each passenger is allowed to bring one pet on board with them. It is important to note that pets must remain inside carriers throughout the flight. Additionally, the combined weight of the pet and carrier must not exceed 20 lbs (9 kg). Fees for domestic travel within Mexico are $1,350 MXN for the low season and $1,700 MXN for the high season. For international travel, the fees are $162 USD for regular season and $168 USD for the high season.
Pets as Checked Baggage: If you prefer to have your pet travel as checked baggage, Aeromexico allows this option as well. The weight limit for pets and carriers combined is 99 lbs (45 kg). The fees for domestic travel within Mexico are $1,600 MXN for the low season and $1,950 MXN for the high season. For international travel, the fees are $252 USD for regular season and $258 USD for the high season.

Allowed Weights & Dimensions: For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers can be hard or soft plastic or soft-sided material, as long as the dog can turn around and lay down naturally. The maximum dimensions for cabin carriers are 16" x 12" x 8" (40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm). For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers must not exceed 38" x 32" x 30" (95 cm x 80 cm x 75 cm). It is important to note that carriers for checked baggage must be sturdy and hard-sided. On E190 flights, the maximum dimensions for carriers are 40" x 36" x 32" (100 cm x 90 cm x 80 cm), while on all other flights, the maximum dimensions are 48" x 44" x 36" (120 cm x 110 cm x 90 cm).
Restrictions & Limitations: It is important to be aware that brachycephalic dogs, also known as flat-faced dogs, are not permitted to fly in the cabin with Aeromexico. However, they can be transported through Aeromexico Cargo instead. Additionally, pets must be at least 8 weeks old to fly. Only one pet is permitted in each carrier.
