Air Canada Pet Policy
Air Canada allows passengers to travel with their pets both in the cabin and as checked baggage. Additionally, Air Canada Cargo can arrange safe transport for pets that do not meet the requirements for cabin or checked baggage travel.
If you wish to bring your pet in the cabin, Air Canada permits 2-4 small cats or dogs per flight. The combined weight of the pet and carrier must be under 22 lbs (10 kg). It's important to note that pets count towards the passenger's carry-on allowance and must be stowed under the seat for the duration of the flight. The fee for traveling with a pet in the cabin is $50 USD on domestic flights and $100 USD on international flights.
Cats and dogs over 12 weeks old can travel as checked baggage on Air Canada flights. The combined weight of the pet and carrier should not exceed 100 lbs (45 kg). Each passenger is allowed to travel with up to 2 pets, and the fees for one-way travel within Canada range between $105-120.75, while one-way international flights range between $270-318.60. However, it's important to note that Air Canada may refuse to transport animals in the hold if temperatures are too high.

Carriers for pets traveling in the hold must not exceed 115" (292 cm) and must be hard-sided, leak-proof, and spacious enough for the pet to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably.
Keep in mind that air carriers can change these policies at any time, so you should always check directly with the airline you are traveling on before you book for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
