Air China Airlines History
Air China Airlines, with the IATA code CA, has a rich history that dates back to 1988. It is the flag carrier and one of the major airlines of the People's Republic of China. Over the years, Air China Airlines has grown to become one of the most prominent airlines in Asia, connecting China to destinations all around the world.
Founded as a result of the Chinese government's decision to split the operations of the Civil Aviation Administration of China into separate airlines, Air China Airlines emerged as one of the three main carriers in the country. The airline started its operations with a fleet of Boeing 707 and Boeing 747 aircraft, serving both domestic and international routes.
Throughout its history, Air China Airlines has continuously expanded its fleet and route network. In 2001, the airline became a member of the Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance.
