The narrow-body fleet of Air India consists of Airbus A319, A320, and A321 aircraft. The airline has a total of 20 Airbus A319 aircraft, 22 Airbus A320 aircraft, and 14 Airbus A321 aircraft. These aircraft are primarily used for domestic and short-haul international flights.
The wide-body fleet of Air India consists of Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft. The airline has a total of 27 Boeing 777 aircraft, which includes 12 Boeing 777-300ER and 15 Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. Air India also operates 27 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which includes 23 Boeing 787-8 and 4 Boeing 787-9 aircraft. These aircraft are primarily used for long-haul international flights.
In 2018, Air India signed a deal with Boeing for the purchase of 3 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The airline also signed a deal with Airbus for the purchase of 14 Airbus A320neo aircraft in the same year.
