AirAsia India: Aircraft Fleet
AirAsia India is a low-cost airline based in Bangalore, India. The airline started its operations in June 2014 and currently operates a fleet of Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
The airline has a total of 32 aircraft in its fleet, all of which are Airbus A320-200. These aircraft are manufactured by Airbus, a European multinational aerospace corporation. The Airbus A320-200 is a narrow-body aircraft that can carry up to 180 passengers.
AirAsia India has made significant deals regarding aircraft. The airline signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of 14 additional A320neo aircraft. The deal was valued at $1.6 billion and was aimed at expanding the airline's fleet and network.
The airline has also been in talks with Airbus for the purchase of A321neo aircraft, which are larger than the A320neo and can carry more passengers. The A321neo would allow AirAsia India to expand its network to longer routes and increase its capacity.
