ANA Airlines Pet Policy

Planning to travel with your furry friend? Here's what you need to know about ANA Airlines' pet policy.

Pet Reservation Info: If you're planning to bring your pet on board, it's important to note that only three animals are accepted on each flight. To secure a spot for your pet, it is advised to book as soon as your travel plans are confirmed. You can get in touch with the ANA Customer Service Team at 813-6741-6683 for pet reservations.

Pets in Passenger Cabin: Unfortunately, ANA Airlines does not permit pets to travel in the cabin on their flights. Your furry friend will have to travel in the cargo hold.

Guidance, Tips, & info on Airlines and Airports

Pets as Checked Baggage: ANA Airlines accepts dogs, cats, small birds, and other small animals such as rabbits, hamsters, and ferrets as checked baggage. However, there are certain restrictions and fees associated with transporting pets. The maximum combined weight of pets and carriers should not exceed 100 lbs (45 kg). The pet fee varies depending on the destination of your travel. For flights to North America, Latin America, and Hawaii, the fee is $400. For flights to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, the fee is $250. Domestic flights within Japan have a pet fee of 5000 JPY.

Allowed Weights & Dimensions: If your pet is traveling as checked baggage, the carrier should not exceed the maximum dimensions of 115" (292 cm). The carrier must have a leak-proof bottom, be equipped with a security lock, and contain sufficient food and water for the duration of the flight. Additionally, the carrier must be escape-proof, rigid (made of metal, plastic, or wood), have wheels removed, and provide ventilation on three sides. It is important to ensure that your pet can stand up, lie down, and turn around comfortably inside the carrier.

Restrictions & Limitations: ANA Airlines permits emotional support dogs on board with prior approval. However, the transportation of short-nosed dog breeds is suspended from May 1 to October 31 every year. Even when traveling outside of this period, it is important to consider the temperature and its potential impact on your pet's physical condition. ANA Airlines does not accept the following short-nosed dog breeds: Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Boxers, Shih Tzus, Boston Terriers, Bull Terriers, Brussels Griffons, Chow Chows, Chins, King Charles Spaniels, Tibetan Spaniels, Pugs, and Pekingese.

Keep in mind that air carriers can change these policies at any time, so you should always check directly with ANA Airlines before you book for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
