Austrian Airlines: Aircraft Fleet
Austrian Airlines is the flag carrier of Austria and operates a modern fleet of aircraft that includes both narrow-body and wide-body planes. The airline has a total of 82 aircraft in its fleet.
The narrow-body fleet consists of Airbus A319, A320, and A321 aircraft. Austrian Airlines has a total of 28 narrow-body planes, with 7 A319s, 17 A320s, and 4 A321s. These aircraft are used primarily for short-haul flights within Europe.
The wide-body fleet consists of Boeing 767 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Austrian Airlines has a total of 14 wide-body planes, with 6 Boeing 767s and 8 Boeing 777s. These aircraft are used for long-haul flights to destinations in North America, Asia, and the Middle East.
In addition to its own fleet, Austrian Airlines has also made significant deals to lease aircraft from other airlines. In 2018, the airline signed a deal with Lufthansa to lease 17 Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft for its regional subsidiary, Austrian Airlines Tyrolean Airways. This deal allowed Austrian Airlines to expand its regional network and offer more flights to smaller cities in Europe.
