China Airlines Partnerships & Alliances
China Airlines, identified by its IATA code CI, is a prominent member of the SkyTeam Alliance. The airline joined this global alliance on September 28, 2011, in a move that further expanded its international presence and connectivity. As part of the SkyTeam Alliance, which includes 19 leading international airlines, China Airlines extends its reach to over 1,000 destinations in 170 countries, providing its customers with seamless travel experiences and a multitude of additional benefits, such as shared frequent flyer programs and airport lounges.
China Airlines also maintains a number of important codeshare agreements that facilitate cooperation with airlines outside the SkyTeam Alliance. Codeshare agreements allow airlines to sell seats on each other's flights, which in turn provides passengers with a greater selection of destinations and flight times. Some of China Airlines' notable codeshare partners include Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Qantas Airways, and Japan Airlines.
