Korean Air Partnerships & Alliances
Korean Air, with the IATA code KE, is an integral member of the SkyTeam Alliance. Joining the alliance in 2000, Korean Air became the first airline from the Asia-Pacific region to enter this prestigious group, demonstrating its commitment to offering enhanced connectivity and services to its passengers globally. As part of the SkyTeam Alliance, Korean Air passengers are afforded a wealth of benefits, including seamless travel across the alliance's extensive network, more robust frequent flyer rewards, and enhanced airport services.
Beyond its membership in the SkyTeam Alliance, Korean Air has forged numerous codeshare agreements to further broaden its network. These agreements allow Korean Air to sell seats on flights operated by its partners, and vice versa, offering passengers increased flexibility and convenience. Some of the airline's most notable codeshare partners include Air France, Delta Air Lines, and Aeroméxico. Such arrangements enable Korean Air to reach destinations beyond its own routes, offering passengers more travel options across the globe.
Korean Air is also part of a transpacific joint venture with fellow SkyTeam member, Delta Air Lines. This alliance, formalized in 2018, enables the two airlines to collaborate on the scheduling, pricing, and revenue sharing for their transpacific flights. The venture enhances both airlines' competitiveness, benefiting passengers with more choices, better services, and enhanced frequent flyer benefits.
