Lion Air: Aircraft Fleet
Lion Air is a low-cost airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The airline operates a fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft to serve its domestic and international routes.
Lion Air's fleet consists of 113 aircraft, including:
- Boeing 737-800: 98
- Airbus A330-300: 8
- Boeing 737 MAX 8: 7
Lion Air has made significant deals with Boeing, including a $22 billion order for 230 Boeing 737 aircraft in 2011. However, in 2019, Lion Air's Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft were involved in two fatal crashes, leading to the grounding of the entire fleet worldwide. Lion Air has since cancelled its remaining orders for the Boeing 737 MAX 8.
Despite the setbacks, Lion Air continues to operate a large fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which are used for both short and medium-haul flights. The airline's Airbus A330-300 aircraft are used for long-haul flights to destinations such as Jeddah, Riyadh, and Tokyo.
