Norwegian: Aircraft Fleet
Norwegian is a low-cost airline based in Norway that operates a modern fleet of aircraft. The airline has a total of 156 aircraft in its fleet, consisting of Boeing and Airbus models.
The majority of Norwegian's fleet is made up of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a total of 118 planes. The airline also operates 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which were grounded for a period of time due to safety concerns but have since been cleared to fly again. In addition, Norwegian has 5 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner planes and 8 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes, which are used for long-haul flights.
Aside from Boeing aircraft, Norwegian also has 14 Airbus A320neo planes in its fleet. These planes are known for their fuel efficiency and are used on shorter routes.
In recent years, Norwegian has made significant deals regarding its aircraft fleet. In 2012, the airline placed an order for 222 planes from Boeing and Airbus, which was one of the largest aircraft orders in European history. However, due to financial difficulties, Norwegian has since cancelled many of these orders and has scaled back its expansion plans.
