Royal Jordanian Airlines Pet Policy

Royal Jordanian Airlines offers pet-friendly travel options for your furry or feathered friends. Their policy allows a limited number of pets on each flight - 2 in the cabin and 4 in the hold. Due to these limitations, it's suggested that you secure your pet's spot as soon as your travel plans are confirmed. This can be done by getting in touch with their Customer Service Team via phone at (+962) 6510-0000.

If your journey does not exceed 5 hours, small cats and dogs are permitted in the economy class section of the flights. The combined weight of your pet and their carrier, however, should not exceed 15 lbs (7 kg). The charges for pets traveling in the cabin are calculated at twice the typical excess baggage rate, ranging between $90-180 depending on the destination.

For those pets that are slightly larger or exceed the in-cabin limitations, Royal Jordanian provides the option of transporting them as checked baggage. Cats, dogs, and other household pets are accepted with no specific weight limit, but charges are contingent on the combined weight of your pet and their carrier. First animal carriers up to 70 lbs (32 kg) under 80" (203 cm) will be charged at twice the usual excess baggage rate. Any additional carriers of similar weight and size will also be charged at double the rate. Charges for heavier and larger carriers are correspondingly higher, with specific rates depending on the exact size and weight.

The airline also has specifications regarding carrier sizes. For cabin travel, the carriers must not exceed 19" x 15" x 10" (50 cm x 40 cm x 26). As for pets traveling as checked baggage, there are no strict size restrictions. However, carriers larger than 98" (250 cm) will incur an additional fee for every extra 20" (50 cm).

Aside from dogs, cats, and household pets, Royal Jordanian also accommodates falcons. These special passengers are charged thrice the normal excess baggage rate. If a handler is traveling with more than one falcon, an adjacent seat booking will be required. The maximum number of falcons permitted on board is between 10 to 15.

It's important to bear in mind that airline policies can alter without notice. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you directly contact the airline before booking to get the most accurate and latest information.
