If you wish to bring a larger carry-on bag, such as a roller bag, you will need to purchase a carry-on bag allowance. The maximum dimensions for a carry-on bag are 22 x 18 x 10 inches (56 x 46 x 25 cm) including handles and wheels. Please note that there is an additional fee for this service.
Checked Baggage
For checked baggage, Spirit Airlines offers various options depending on your needs. The fees for checked bags vary depending on the route and whether you purchase the bag allowance during booking or at the airport.
The standard checked baggage allowance for domestic flights is up to 62 linear inches (157 cm) in overall dimensions and 40 pounds (18 kg) in weight. However, it's important to note that additional fees apply for checked bags weighing more than 40 pounds (18 kg) or exceeding the size limits.
For international flights, the checked baggage allowance may vary, so it's advisable to check with Spirit Airlines or refer to your ticket for specific details regarding weight and size limits.
Extra, Oversized, and Special Items
Spirit Airlines also provides guidelines for extra, oversized, and special items. If you plan to bring any non-standard baggage, such as sporting equipment, musical instruments, or fragile items, additional fees and restrictions may apply.
It's recommended to contact Spirit Airlines directly or visit their website to obtain the most up-to-date information regarding specific rules and fees for these items.
Note that air carriers often change the details of these rules and requirements, so be sure to check directly with the airline on the day you are flying for the most accurate information.
