Getting Around AVL Airport
AVL Airport has a single terminal that spans 280,000 square feet, making it relatively easy to navigate. The terminal houses 12 gates, which are conveniently located to ensure passengers can move between areas without much hassle. The compact size of the terminal means that walking distances are short, and passengers can quickly get from the security checkpoint to their gate.

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
AVL Airport has two security checkpoints located on the upper level of the terminal building. The first checkpoint is located near the Delta Airlines ticket counter, while the second checkpoint is located near the American Airlines ticket counter. Both checkpoints are open from 4:00 AM until the last flight of the day.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The airport offers a TSA PreCheck lane at both security checkpoints for eligible passengers. Additionally, there is a dedicated Fast Pass lane available for purchase, which allows passengers to bypass the regular security line. The Fast Pass lane is located at the second security checkpoint near the American Airlines ticket counter.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
AVL does not have international flights, therefore, there are no passport or immigration control locations at this airport.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
Asheville Regional Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to experience expedited screening at security checkpoints. This program is available for U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents. Passengers who are enrolled in TSA Pre Check can keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and can keep their laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. The TSA Pre Checkpoint at Asheville Airport is located in the main terminal, near the airline ticket counters.

Global Entry Locations
AVL Airport does not have a Global Entry Enrollment Center. However, there are several enrollment centers located within a reasonable driving distance of the airport. The closest enrollment centers are located in Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To enroll in Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and attend an in-person interview at an enrollment center.
CLEAR Lane Locations
