Security & Screening
In this section, you will find comprehensive information about the security and screening processes at the airport. Learn about the locations of security checkpoints, the availability of TSA PreCheck and its benefits, and details on passport and immigration control. Additionally, discover information on Global Entry and CLEAR lanes, including their locations and the advantages they offer. This guide also provides useful links to check security wait times and exclusive offers for expedited screening services.
Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
Aspen Pitkin County Airport has one main security checkpoint located on the upper level of the terminal building. It is easily accessible from the ticketing and check-in area. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
There are no dedicated fast track lanes at Aspen Airport. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, which allows them to use expedited screening lanes and keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on. The TSA PreCheck lane is located at the main security checkpoint.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
ASE Airport does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations within the airport. However, passengers traveling on domestic flights are still required to present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, at the security checkpoint.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
The airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available for passengers. The TSA checkpoint is located on the main level of the terminal, near the ticket counters. Passengers will need to remove their shoes, belts, and any items from their pockets before going through the security screening. Liquids must also be placed in a clear plastic bag and presented to the TSA officer for inspection. The TSA Pre Checkpoint is located adjacent to the standard TSA checkpoint and is available for eligible passengers who have enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program. These passengers are able to keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and can leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags.

Global Entry Locations
ASE does not have a Global Entry enrollment center on site. However, there are several enrollment centers located within a reasonable driving distance of the airport. These include locations in Grand Junction, CO and Salt Lake City, UT. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. Members of the program can use automated kiosks to complete their customs declaration and biometric scanning upon arrival, saving time and hassle at the airport.
CLEAR Lane Locations
This airport does not currently have CLEAR Lanes. However, you still might be able to use CLEAR if you are traveling to or from another airport that does. You can easily check CLEAR airport locations and learn more about how to save a ton of time on your next trip!
