Getting Around BLR Airport
The airport features two main terminals, each catering to different types of flights. Terminal 1 is dedicated to domestic flights, while Terminal 2 handles both international and some domestic flights. Understanding the layout of these terminals will help you navigate the airport more efficiently.
In Terminal 1, the check-in and baggage reclaim areas are located on the lower floor, and the departure gates are on the first floor. Domestic departures use gates 1, 2, 12–18, and 28–30. The terminal also has bus gates, with gates 3–9 forming the Western bus gates and gates 19–25 forming the Eastern bus gates. Lounges and a transit hotel operated by Travel Food Services are available for passengers looking to relax before their flights.
Terminal 2, which began operations in January 2023, has a similar layout with arrivals on the ground floor and departures on the first floor. This terminal features 95 check-in counters, 17 security check lanes, and 9 baggage claim belts. It is equipped with both tarmac gates and jet bridge gates, including those capable of handling larger aircraft like the Airbus A380. Lounges and other passenger amenities are also available in Terminal 2, ensuring a comfortable experience for travelers.

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
BLR Airport has security checkpoints located at various points throughout the airport. The domestic terminal has four security checkpoints, while the international terminal has three. The locations of these checkpoints are clearly marked and can be easily found by following the signs throughout the airport. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport early to allow enough time to pass through security and avoid any delays.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Passengers who are looking to expedite their journey through security can make use of the Fast Track lanes available at the airport. These lanes are available for both domestic and international passengers and can be found at the security checkpoints. To make use of the Fast Track lanes, passengers can purchase a Fast Track pass, which is available for purchase online or at the airport. The Fast Track pass allows passengers to skip the regular security queue and pass through security quickly and efficiently.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The Passport & Immigration Control locations at BLR can be found in the arrivals area of the airport. The domestic terminal has one Passport & Immigration Control location, while the international terminal has two. Passengers arriving at the airport will need to present their passport and visa (if applicable) to the immigration officer for clearance. It is recommended that passengers have all their travel documents ready and easily accessible to avoid any delays at Passport & Immigration Control.

The domestic terminal has two baggage claim areas, while the international terminal has three. Baggage carousels are clearly marked with flight information, making it easy for passengers to locate their luggage. The airport also has baggage services available for lost or damaged luggage.
