Getting Around PEK Airport
PEK Airport consists of three main terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected by a public walkway, which takes approximately 10–15 minutes to walk. Terminal 3, the newest and largest terminal, is separate and serves a variety of international and domestic flights.
To move between the terminals, shuttle buses are available and operate frequently, ensuring smooth transfers. Terminal 1 primarily handles domestic flights, while Terminal 2 serves both domestic and international flights, including those of Hainan Airlines and SkyTeam members (excluding China Airlines). Terminal 3 is used by Air China, Star Alliance, and Oneworld members (excluding SriLankan Airlines), along with other domestic and international flights.
Inside each terminal, signage is clear and available in multiple languages, making navigation straightforward. For those with limited mobility or heavy luggage, there are ample moving walkways and elevators. Additionally, information desks are strategically located throughout the terminals to assist travelers with any questions or directions.

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
Beijing PEK Airport has security checkpoints located at each terminal. Terminal 1 has two security checkpoints, one on the first floor and one on the third floor. Terminal 2 has three security checkpoints, located on the first, second, and third floors. Terminal 3 has four security checkpoints, located on the first, second, third, and fourth floors. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Fast track lanes are available for eligible passengers at PEK Airport. These lanes are located at each terminal, near the security checkpoints. Eligible passengers include first and business class passengers, as well as passengers with elite status in certain frequent flyer programs. These lanes allow passengers to bypass the regular security lines and expedite the screening process. Passengers should check with their airline or travel agent to see if they are eligible for fast track access.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control is located at each terminal of the airport. Terminal 1 has two immigration checkpoints, located on the first and third floors. Terminal 2 has three immigration checkpoints, located on the first, second, and third floors. Terminal 3 has four immigration checkpoints, located on the first, second, third, and fourth floors. Passengers arriving in Beijing from international destinations will need to go through passport and immigration control before exiting the airport. Passengers should have all necessary travel documents ready for inspection by immigration officials.

Baggage Claim Areas
Beijing PEK Airport has multiple baggage claim areas located in each terminal. Passengers can easily locate their baggage claim area by checking the flight information display screens or asking airport staff for assistance. Baggage carts are available for use in the baggage claim areas for a fee.
