Getting Around CBR Airport
The airport features two main terminals: the Southern Concourse and the Western Concourse. These terminals are interconnected, making it relatively easy to navigate between them. The Southern Concourse primarily serves Qantas and QantasLink flights, while the Western Concourse is dedicated to Virgin Australia. Both terminals offer check-in counters, departure gates, and lounges for their respective airlines. The central atrium, which separates the two concourses, acts as a focal point and a convenient meeting spot.
If you are flying with Qantas, you will find all related services, including The Qantas Club, The Qantas Business Class Lounge, and The Qantas Chairman's Lounge, within the Southern Concourse. For Virgin Australia passengers, the Western Concourse provides the Virgin Lounge and The Club, an exclusive, invitation-only area. International flights operate from gate 5 in the Western Concourse, which is equipped with customs, immigration, and quarantine facilities.
For those using general aviation services, there is a separate General Aviation Terminal located on the far west side of the Terminal Precinct. While smaller and less frequented, this terminal is easily accessible from the main terminals. Clear signage throughout the airport helps guide travelers to their desired locations, ensuring a smooth transit experience.

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
CBR Airport has several security checkpoints located throughout the terminal. The main security checkpoint is located on the ground floor near the check-in counters. There are also additional security checkpoints located near the departure gates for domestic and international flights. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time to pass through security.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Fast Track lanes are available for eligible passengers at the airport. The Fast Track lane is located at the main security checkpoint on the ground floor. Eligible passengers include those traveling in Business Class, passengers with elite status in frequent flyer programs, and those who have purchased Fast Track access. Fast Track access can be purchased online or at the airport. The Fast Track lane allows passengers to bypass the regular security line and expedite the security screening process.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control is located on the ground floor of CBR. Passengers arriving on international flights will proceed through passport control after disembarking the aircraft. Passengers departing on international flights will proceed through immigration control before boarding their flight. The airport has several passport control booths and immigration counters to process passengers efficiently. Passengers are advised to have all necessary travel documents ready for inspection by immigration officials.

Baggage Claim Areas
Canberra Airport has two baggage claim areas located in the arrivals hall. The domestic baggage claim area is situated on the left side of the hall, while the international baggage claim area is on the right side. Both areas are clearly marked and easily accessible. Baggage carts are available for use in the baggage claim areas.
