Getting Around LIH Airport
The airport features an open-air, mostly un-walled design, making it unique and easy to navigate. Check-in counters are situated outside, providing a straightforward start to your travel experience. Once you pass through security, you'll find yourself in the main terminal area, which is organized for ease of movement.
The terminal consists of several gates, each serving specific airlines. Gates 9-10 are commonly used by United Airlines, while Gates 7-8 serve Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and WestJet. Hawaiian Airlines operates from Gates 3-4 and 5-6, and American Airlines usually uses Gate 3. All gate areas are air-conditioned, offering a comfortable waiting environment.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The airport has one security checkpoint located on the ground floor of the main terminal. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
There are no fast track lanes available at LIH.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The passport and immigration control area is located on the second floor of the main terminal. All international passengers must go through this area before entering the United States. The airport has several immigration officers to process travelers' documents and answer any questions they may have. Passengers are advised to have all necessary travel documents ready and easily accessible to expedite the process.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
Kauai Lihue Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows expedited screening for qualified passengers, which means they can keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and keep their laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To be eligible for Global Entry, passengers must apply and pass a background check.
