Getting Around PVR Airport

The airport features a two-story passenger terminal that is designed to streamline the travel experience. On the ground floor, you will find the main entrance, a check-in area, and the arrivals section, which houses customs, immigration facilities, and baggage claim services. This level also offers amenities such as car rental services, taxi stands, snack bars, and souvenir shops to meet your immediate needs upon arrival.

Once you proceed to the upper floor, you will encounter the security checkpoint and the departures area. The departures area is divided into two main sections: Concourse A and Concourse B. Concourse A, which serves domestic flights, includes gates 1-5A and offers waiting areas with shops, food stands, and a VIP lounge. Gates 1-3 are equipped with jet bridges, while gates 4 and 5 allow boarding directly from the apron. Concourse B, which caters to international flights, is located in a satellite building connected by a walkway. This concourse features seating areas, food stands, restaurants, a VIP lounge, and duty-free shops. It includes 15 gates (6-20B), with the top-floor gates having jet bridges.

To navigate the airport efficiently, consider the following tips:

  • Follow signage to find your designated concourse and gate.
  • Use the available amenities on the ground floor if you have time before proceeding to the upper floor for security and departures.
  • If you are flying internationally, allow extra time to walk to Concourse B via the connecting walkway.
These tips will help you move smoothly through the airport and ensure a more comfortable travel experience.

Security & Screening

Additionally, discover how to renew or enroll in TSA PreCheck to make your travel experience smoother and faster.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

At PVR Airport, security checkpoints are located at the entrance of each terminal. Terminal 1 has two security checkpoints, one for domestic flights and the other for international flights. Terminal 2 has one security checkpoint for both domestic and international flights. Passengers are required to pass through security screening before entering the departure area. The airport recommends arriving at least two hours before your flight to allow enough time for security screening and other procedures.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Fast track lanes are available for passengers who want to expedite their security screening process. These lanes are located at each security checkpoint in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Passengers who are eligible for fast track lanes include those who are traveling in first or business class, those who have elite status with their airline, and those who have purchased a fast track pass. Fast track passes can be purchased online or at the airport and cost around $20 USD per person.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

Passport and immigration control is located in the arrivals area of each terminal. Terminal 1 has separate passport control areas for domestic and international arrivals, while Terminal 2 has a single passport control area for both domestic and international arrivals. After disembarking from your flight, you will need to follow the signs to passport control. Once there, you will need to present your passport and any necessary travel documents to the immigration officer. After clearing passport control, you will be able to collect your luggage and exit the airport.
