Getting Around RST Airport
The terminal at the airport is divided into two concourses: Concourse A and Concourse B. Each concourse has two levels, with the upper level dedicated to passenger services such as shops, restaurants, bathrooms, and boarding gates. The ground level houses offices, ground service equipment, and US Customs and Immigration. There are a total of 21 gates, with Concourse A having 10 gates and Concourse B having 11 gates.
To navigate between the concourses, passengers can use clearly marked signs and walkways. Both concourses are named after notable figures from Rochester, with Concourse A named after Frederick Douglass and Concourse B named after Susan B. Anthony. Here is a quick guide to the airlines and their respective gates:
- Concourse A:
- American Airlines: Gates A6, A8-A11
- Avelo Airlines: Gate A7
- JetBlue Airways: Gate A5
- Southwest Airlines: Gates A2, A4
- Spirit Airlines: Gate A1
- Concourse B:
- Allegiant Air: Gate B9
- Delta Airlines: Gates B1, B3-B5, B7
- United Airlines: Gates B6, B8, B10
The terminal is designed to be user-friendly, with ample signage directing passengers to their gates, amenities, and services. Elevators and escalators are available to assist passengers in moving between the two levels of the terminal. For those needing additional assistance, information desks are strategically placed throughout the terminal to help guide travelers to their destinations.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
RST Airport has two security checkpoints, one located at the north end of the terminal and the other at the south end. The north checkpoint is accessible through the main entrance and serves gates 1-4, while the south checkpoint is located near the baggage claim area and serves gates 5-7. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
There are no dedicated fast track lanes at the airport. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, allowing them to use expedited screening lanes and keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. The TSA PreCheck lane is available at both security checkpoints at RST.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
As a domestic airport, RST does not have a dedicated passport and immigration control area. However, international passengers arriving at RST will clear customs and immigration at their first point of entry into the United States, which may be a different airport. Upon arrival at RST, international passengers will proceed to baggage claim and then exit the terminal through the main exit.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
Rochester International Airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints. The TSA checkpoint is located on the main level of the terminal, near the airline ticket counters. The TSA Pre Checkpoint is located adjacent to the standard TSA checkpoint. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows expedited screening for trusted travelers. Passengers who are enrolled in TSA Pre Check do not need to remove shoes, belts, or light jackets, and can leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags.
