Getting Around SJD Airport

The airport comprises two main terminals, each serving different types of flights and offering various amenities. Terminal 1 is a single-story building that handles domestic flights. Upon arrival, passengers will find a baggage claim area, car rental services, taxi stands, snack bars, and souvenir shops. The departures section includes a check-in area, a security checkpoint, and a concourse with a food court and eight gates. These gates are on the ground level, allowing passengers to walk directly to their aircraft. A mezzanine level accessible from the departure concourse houses a VIP lounge.

Terminal 2 is a two-story structure dedicated to international flights. The ground floor is used for arrivals and includes customs and immigration facilities, a baggage claim area, car rental services, taxi stands, snack bars, and souvenir shops. The upper floor is designated for departures and features check-in areas, a security checkpoint, and a 400-meter-long departure concourse. This area includes restaurants, food stands, duty-free shops, and 19 gates, nine of which are equipped with jet bridges. A VIP lounge is available past security, near Gate 8.

To navigate between terminals, travelers can use the walkways and shuttle services provided by the airport. Signage throughout both terminals is clear and multilingual, making it easier for passengers to find their way around. Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

SJD Airport has multiple security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The main security checkpoint is located at the entrance of the terminal building, before the check-in counters. There are also additional security checkpoints located at the entrance of each boarding gate. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport with enough time to pass through security and reach their gate before boarding time.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Fast track lanes are available for passengers who wish to expedite their security screening process. These lanes are located at the main security checkpoint and are accessible to passengers who have purchased a fast track pass or have elite status with their airline.
