Terminal 2 Info & Layout
Terminal 2 at Narita International Airport plays a crucial role in handling international flights and serves as a hub for the Oneworld alliance carriers. Opened in 1992, this terminal is designed with a main building and a satellite, both featuring linear concourses. It covers an area of 391,000 square meters and offers 32 boarding gates, capable of accommodating large aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-8.
Japan Airlines is the primary operator in Terminal 2, alongside other airlines including SkyTeam carriers like China Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, and Star Alliance carrier Air India. Additionally, non-affiliated carriers such as Emirates, Philippine Airlines, and VietJet also operate from this terminal.
Travelers can enjoy a variety of amenities, including the "Narita 5th Avenue," the largest duty-free mall in Japan. For domestic flights, gates 65, 66, and 67 in the main building are accessible from both the main departures concourse and a separate domestic check-in facility.
Passengers can access Terminal 2 via a pedestrian walkway that replaced the Terminal 2 Shuttle System in 2013. This walkway connects the main and satellite buildings, ensuring seamless movement within the terminal. Connections to other terminals are facilitated by airport shuttle buses and walkways, providing easy access for travelers transferring flights.
One unique feature of Terminal 2 is its observation deck, offering travelers a chance to relax and enjoy views of the airfield. This terminal's comprehensive facilities and strategic layout make it a noteworthy point of transit for international travelers at Narita International Airport.
