Getting Around YYZ Airport
YYZ Airport comprises two main terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 is the larger of the two, featuring 58 gates and serving as the base for Air Canada and other Star Alliance airlines. Terminal 3, with 46 gates, primarily accommodates airlines such as WestJet, Porter Airlines, and various international carriers. Both terminals handle domestic, transborder, and international flights, making it essential for travelers to know their airline and flight details to navigate efficiently.
Moving between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 is straightforward, thanks to the Terminal Link train, a free automated people mover that operates 24/7. Inside each terminal, clear signage directs passengers to check-in counters, security checkpoints, baggage claim areas, and gates. For those with connecting flights, Terminal 1 offers special customs checkpoints for international-to-international transfers, reducing the need for additional security checks. Additionally, both terminals feature numerous dining and shopping options, with Terminal 1 housing several Air Canada and Plaza Premium lounges for eligible passengers.
For passengers arriving or departing from the Infield Concourse, shuttle buses provide transportation to and from Terminal 3. This concourse is used primarily during peak travel times to manage overflow. To aid movement within the terminals, travelers can utilize moving walkways, escalators, and elevators. Information desks and interactive kiosks are also available to assist with directions and flight information.

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The airport has security checkpoints located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 has two security checkpoints, one located near the entrance of the terminal and the other located near the gates. Terminal 3 has three security checkpoints, one located near the entrance of the terminal and the other two located near the gates. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their flight to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Fast Track lanes are available for passengers who want to expedite their security screening process. These lanes are located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. In Terminal 1, the Fast Track lane is located near the entrance of the terminal. In Terminal 3, the Fast Track lane is located near the entrance of the terminal as well as near the gates. Passengers who are eligible for the Fast Track lane include those traveling in business or first class, those with elite status in their airline's frequent flyer program, and those who have purchased a Fast Track pass.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control is located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. In Terminal 1, passport control is located near the entrance of the terminal while immigration control is located near the gates. In Terminal 3, both passport and immigration control are located near the entrance of the terminal as well as near the gates. Passengers should make sure to have all necessary travel documents and visas ready for inspection by the border services officers. Automated passport control kiosks are also available for eligible passengers to expedite the process.

The airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, both of which offer a wide range of food and shopping options. When it comes to food, Toronto YYZ Airport has something for everyone. From fast food chains to sit-down restaurants, there are plenty of options to choose from. Terminal 1 has a food court with a variety of options, including Tim Hortons, Subway, and McDonald's. Terminal 3 has a similar food court with options like KFC, Pizza Pizza, and Starbucks. Baggage Claim Areas
Baggage claim areas at YYZ are located on the ground level of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Upon arrival, passengers can follow the signs to the baggage claim area where they can collect their checked luggage. The airport provides baggage carts free of charge to help passengers transport their luggage from the baggage claim area to the ground transportation area.
