Getting Around HVN Airport
At HVN Airport, the passenger terminal is divided into two separate buildings: one designated for departing passengers and the other for arriving passengers. This clear separation helps streamline the flow of travelers and makes navigation straightforward. The terminal has three gates and two remote airline parking spots, all of which are utilized by Avelo Airlines.
For departing passengers, the terminal building includes check-in counters, security checkpoints, and access to the boarding gates. Once through security, travelers will find themselves in the departure lounge, which provides seating and basic amenities. Arriving passengers will enter a separate building where they can quickly proceed to baggage claim and ground transportation options. Clear signage throughout both buildings assists in guiding passengers to their destinations efficiently.
To facilitate easy movement between the two terminal buildings, there are clearly marked pathways and signs. Additionally, airport staff are available to assist with any questions or directions. If you have a connecting flight, ensure you follow the signs to the appropriate terminal area to avoid any confusion.

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
New Haven Airport has one security checkpoint located on the first floor of the terminal building. The checkpoint is easily accessible from the main entrance and is open daily from 4:00am until the last flight of the day. Passengers are advised to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time to allow for adequate time to pass through security.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Unfortunately, HVN Airport does not currently offer any fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, which allows for a quicker and more efficient screening process. Passengers can apply for TSA PreCheck online or in person at an enrollment center.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The airport does not have any international flights, therefore there are no passport or immigration control locations within the airport. However, passengers traveling internationally will need to go through customs and immigration at their final destination.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At Tweed Airport, TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints are available to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for all passengers. TSA Pre Check allows eligible passengers to enjoy a faster and more efficient screening process, with no need to remove shoes, belts, or light jackets, and no need to take laptops and liquids out of their bags. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply online, undergo a background check, and pay a fee. TSA Pre Check is available at the main terminal of HVN.

Global Entry Locations
Tweed New Haven Airport is not currently a Global Entry location. However, Global Entry is available at several nearby airports, including Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut, and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City. Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers arriving in the United States. To apply for Global Entry, passengers must complete an online application, undergo a background check, and attend an in-person interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center.
CLEAR Lane Locations

Upon arrival at the airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim area. The airport has a single baggage claim area located near the exit of the terminal building. The baggage claim area is equipped with conveyor belts that transport luggage from the aircraft to the claim area. Passengers are advised to check the flight information display screens to determine the correct baggage carousel for their flight. Baggage carts are also available for passengers to transport their luggage to their destination.
