Getting Around BDL Airport

BDL Airport features a single terminal, Terminal A, which is divided into two concourses: the East Concourse and the West Concourse. The East Concourse (Gates 1–12) serves airlines such as Aer Lingus, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, and Sun Country. The West Concourse (Gates 20–30) accommodates Air Canada, American, Breeze, and United airlines. Additionally, there is a separate Customs Building, referred to as Terminal B, for arriving international flights, which includes one passenger gate.

To navigate between the concourses and other facilities within Terminal A, clear signage is provided throughout the airport. Passengers can easily walk between the East and West Concourses, as they are located within the same terminal. For those needing assistance, information desks are available near the main entrances and throughout the terminal. Elevators and escalators are conveniently located to help travelers move between floors, including access to the administrative offices on the third floor.

For a smoother experience, consider the following tips:

  • Check airport maps available at information desks or online to familiarize yourself with the layout.
  • Allow extra time for walking between concourses if you have connecting flights.
  • Utilize the airport’s free Wi-Fi to access digital maps and real-time flight information.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

Hartford Airport has security checkpoints located in each of its four terminals: East Concourse, International Terminal, Main Terminal, and West Concourse. These checkpoints are staffed by TSA agents who are responsible for screening passengers and their belongings before they board their flights. The exact location of each checkpoint can be found on the airport's website or by asking an airport employee for assistance.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Passengers who are looking to speed up the security screening process can take advantage of the TSA PreCheck program. This program allows eligible passengers to use dedicated lanes that are designed to move more quickly than the regular security lanes. The TSA PreCheck lanes are located in each of the four terminals at BDL Airport, and passengers can apply for the program online or in person at one of the airport's enrollment centers.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

The passport and immigration control locations at the airport are located in the International Terminal. This terminal is used for all international flights and is staffed by customs and border protection agents who are responsible for processing arriving passengers. Passengers who are arriving from international destinations should follow the signs to the passport control area, where they will be asked to present their passports and other travel documents before being allowed to enter the United States.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

At Bradley Airport, TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints are available to help expedite the security screening process for travelers. TSA Pre Check allows eligible passengers to enjoy a faster and more efficient screening experience by keeping on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leaving laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. TSA Pre Check is available at the main security checkpoint in Terminal A. Additionally, there is a dedicated TSA Pre Check lane at the East Security Checkpoint in Terminal B. Travelers can apply for TSA Pre Check online or in person at an enrollment center.

To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and schedule an in-person interview at a Global Entry enrollment center. The nearest enrollment center to BDL is located in Windsor Locks, CT.
