Getting Around MDW Airport

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
MDW has several security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The main security checkpoint is located in the main terminal, near the entrance to Concourse A. There are also additional security checkpoints located in Concourse B and Concourse C. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for the security screening process.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Chicago Midway Airport offers a TSA PreCheck program, which allows eligible passengers to use dedicated security lanes that offer a faster and more efficient screening process. The TSA PreCheck lanes are located at the main security checkpoint in the main terminal, as well as in Concourse A and Concourse B. In addition, some airlines offer their own fast track lanes for their premium passengers. These lanes are typically located near the main security checkpoint in the main terminal.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Chicago Midway Airport has a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility located in the main terminal. This facility is responsible for processing international arrivals and departures, as well as conducting customs and immigration inspections. Passengers arriving from international destinations will need to proceed to the CBP facility after disembarking from their flight. The CBP facility is located near baggage claim in the main terminal.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
MDW Airport has several TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the airport. These checkpoints are designed to ensure the safety and security of all travelers and their belongings. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible travelers to enjoy expedited security screening. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, travelers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check application program. Once approved, travelers can enjoy the benefits of TSA Pre Check at over 200 participating airports across the United States.

Global Entry Locations
The airport is home to a Global Entry Enrollment Center, which allows travelers to apply for and enroll in the Global Entry program. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and schedule an appointment for an in-person interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. The enrollment process includes a background check and fingerprinting. Once approved, travelers can enjoy the benefits of expedited clearance at over 75 participating airports and 13 land border crossings.

CLEAR Plus lanes are located in the Main Terminal on the Mezzanine Level near the North security checkpoint bridge.

Baggage Claim Areas
Chicago Midway Airport has three baggage claim areas located in the lower level of the terminal. Baggage claim for Concourse A is located at the east end of the terminal, while Concourse B and C baggage claim are located at the west end. Each baggage claim area has monitors displaying flight information and carousel numbers for arriving flights. Baggage carts are available for use near the baggage claim areas.
