Frequent Flier Terminal Tips
To help you navigate the airport terminals with ease, we’ve gathered the best advice and tips from DAL-based frequent travelers, flight attendants, pilots, and airport staff. Their first-hand insights will guide you through the terminals for a smoother journey. Here’s what they have to say:
Navigating the Airport
"If you’re flying with Southwest Airlines, make sure to check which gate you're departing from since they use most of the gates at DAL. The terminal is compact, so even if you have a tight connection, you can get from one gate to another quickly." — Maria G., Irving, TX, December 2023
"For those flying with JSX, remember that their private terminal is separate from the main terminal. Follow the signs carefully to avoid any confusion. It’s a quieter experience but requires a bit more navigation." — John D., Plano, TX, January 2024
Amenities & Services
"Don't miss the Whataburger near gate 10 if you want a quick bite before your flight. It's a local favorite and a great way to taste some Texas flavor without leaving the airport." — Lisa T., Richardson, TX, February 2024
"The free Wi-Fi at DAL is pretty reliable, but if you need a quiet place to work, head to The Club at DFW lounge near gate 6. It’s open to all travelers and offers complimentary snacks and beverages." — Kevin R., Mesquite, TX, March 2024
Security
"If you're a TSA PreCheck member, make sure to use the designated lanes at all four security checkpoints. It really speeds up the process, especially during peak travel times." — Emily S., Garland, TX, April 2024
"CLEAR members can use the expedited lanes at the main terminal. It’s a lifesaver during busy hours and you can even bring a guest with you through the lane, which is a nice perk." — David P., Grand Prairie, TX, May 2024
Baggage
"When you arrive at DAL, check the flight information displays to find out which baggage carousel your luggage will be on. There are four carousels, so it’s pretty straightforward, but the displays help you avoid any mix-ups." — Sarah L., Carrollton, TX, June 2024
"If you have a long layover and want to explore Dallas, you can store your luggage at the baggage storage facility. It’s convenient and lets you travel light while you’re out and about." — Michael B., Grapevine, TX, July 2024

Security & Screening
In this section, you will find comprehensive information about the security and screening processes at the airport. Learn about the locations of security checkpoints, including fast track lanes for TSA PreCheck and CLEAR members. Discover details about TSA PreCheck and Global Entry programs, including how to enroll or renew your membership. Additionally, find out where CLEAR lanes are situated and take advantage of limited-time offers for expedited security services. This guide ensures you are well-prepared for a smooth and efficient security screening experience.
Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
DAL has four security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The checkpoints are located at the entrance of each terminal, with two in the main terminal and one in each of the satellite terminals. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their flight to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Passengers who are members of TSA PreCheck or CLEAR can use the designated fast track lanes at Dallas Love Field Airport. TSA PreCheck lanes are available at all four security checkpoints, while CLEAR lanes are located at the main terminal and satellite terminals. These lanes allow eligible passengers to bypass the regular security lines and expedite the screening process.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Dallas Love Field does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling to international destinations from Dallas Love Field will need to connect through another airport with international flights and go through passport and immigration control at that airport.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
DAL Airport has several TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the airport to help expedite the security screening process for passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to enjoy a faster, more efficient screening experience by keeping on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leaving laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To use TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply for the program and be approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Global Entry Locations
The airport is a designated Global Entry location, which allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. Global Entry members can use automated kiosks to complete their customs declaration and biometric scanning, which can save time and hassle. To become a Global Entry member, travelers must apply online and complete an in-person interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. Love Field has a Global Entry Enrollment Center located on-site for added convenience.
CLEAR Lane Locations
CLEAR Plus lanes are located in Terminal 1, on the west side of the security checkpoint.
