Getting Around FWA Airport
Fort Wayne International Airport features a single terminal with a straightforward layout, making it easy for you to navigate through the airport. The terminal is divided into two main levels: the first floor and the second floor. Gates 1 through 4 are located on the ground level (first floor), and these gates typically handle smaller aircraft and regional flights. If your gate number is between 1 and 4, you'll be boarding directly from the tarmac, except for Gate 4 which has a half-height jetway added in 2015.
The second floor houses Gates 5 through 10, accessible via escalators or elevators. Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
FWA Airport has two security checkpoints located in the terminal building. The first checkpoint is located near the ticket counters, while the second checkpoint is located near the gates. Both checkpoints are equipped with advanced technology to ensure the safety and security of passengers and their belongings. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The airport does not currently offer fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, which allows them to use dedicated screening lanes and keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. TSA PreCheck is available at both security checkpoints at FWA.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Fort Wayne Airport does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations within the airport. However, passengers traveling internationally from nearby airports such as Chicago O'Hare or Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport will go through passport and immigration control upon arrival in the United States.

The TSA Checkpoint is located in the main terminal, and all passengers are required to go through this checkpoint before boarding their flights. The TSA Pre Checkpoint is also located in the main terminal and is available for eligible passengers who have enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program. This program allows passengers to go through a faster and more convenient security screening process, without having to remove their shoes, belts, and light jackets, or take out their laptops and liquids from their carry-on bags.

Global Entry Locations
FWA Airport does not currently have a Global Entry Enrollment Center, but there are several enrollment centers located in nearby cities, such as Indianapolis and Chicago. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. This program also includes TSA PreCheck benefits, so passengers who are enrolled in Global Entry can also use the TSA PreCheck lanes at the airport. To enroll in Global Entry, passengers must complete an online application, schedule an interview at an enrollment center, and pay a fee.
