Getting Around OGG Airport

The terminal at OGG is divided into two main areas: north and south. The south area accommodates Gates 1–16, which includes seven aircraft parking positions, suitable for both inter-island and overseas flights. The north area houses Gates 17–39, featuring nine aircraft parking positions. This layout helps in efficiently managing both inter-island and overseas flights, with specific gates designated for each type. For instance, inter-island gates include Gates 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, and 21, while overseas gates are Gates 1, 5, 7, 23, 27, 29, 33, 35, and 39.

When navigating the terminal, it's helpful to note that all ticketing, USDA agricultural inspection, and baggage claim areas are located on the ground level. Sixteen jetways are available for boarding and deplaning, with odd-numbered gates equipped with jetway systems. Even-numbered gates serve as emergency exits with stair access to the ramp below. For passengers needing lounge access, Hawaiian Airlines operates the Premier Club, conveniently located across from Gate 17.

For easy movement between gates, consider the following tips:

  • Allow extra time if you need to move between the north and south areas of the terminal.
  • Follow signage to quickly locate your gate, especially if you are transferring between inter-island and overseas flights.
  • Utilize airport maps available at information desks to familiarize yourself with the terminal layout.
