Getting Around LIS Airport
At LIS Airport, navigating between the two terminals is straightforward. Terminal 1 is the main terminal, handling all arrivals and most scheduled and chartered flights. It features extensive landside and airside areas with a variety of shops and service facilities. Terminal 1 includes two check-in halls: one dedicated to TAP Air Portugal's self check-in and another with 68 desks for other airlines. The departures area has 47 gates, with 17 equipped with jet-bridges and 21 designated for non-Schengen destinations. For flights requiring bus boarding, several apron stands are available.
Terminal 2, located on the southern perimeter of the airport, is smaller and primarily serves low-cost carriers. It has 22 check-in desks and 15 departure gates, mostly utilizing walk boarding with some bus boarding options. Despite its size, Terminal 2 offers standard facilities, including a few shops and service counters. A free shuttle bus service, running every ten minutes, connects Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, making transfers between terminals convenient.
For ease of movement within the terminals, consider the following tips:
- Use the free shuttle bus to transfer between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 if your flight or connections require it.
- Take advantage of the self check-in kiosks in Terminal 1 for a quicker check-in process, especially if flying with TAP Air Portugal.
- Familiarize yourself with the gate layout: Terminal 1 accommodates a mix of Schengen and non-Schengen flights, while Terminal 2 focuses on low-cost European destinations.
