Getting Around PSP Airport
The airport's passenger terminal is divided into three main sections: the main building, the Sonny Bono Concourse, and the Regional Concourse. After checking in at the airline ticket counters or kiosks in the main building, passengers proceed through the security screening area. The main building also houses baggage claim and car rental counters. Once past security, passengers enter an open-air courtyard that serves as a central hub for accessing the concourses.
The open-air courtyard features a full-service restaurant, coffee shop, restrooms, a children's playground, and a pet relief area. From the courtyard, passengers can reach the Sonny Bono Concourse to the north or the Regional Concourse to the south. The Sonny Bono Concourse, which has eight gates with jet bridges, is elevated and designed for larger aircraft. It includes amenities such as a full-service restaurant, golf pro shop, and newsstands.
The Regional Concourse, also known as Gates 12–20, accommodates smaller aircraft and features 11 gates, all of which are hardstands. Passengers board these aircraft using ramps or airstairs. This concourse also offers a restaurant, newsstand, and restrooms. Navigating between these areas is straightforward due to clear signage and the open-air design, making it easy for travelers to find their way around.
