Terminal 1 Info & Layout
Terminal 1 at San Diego International Airport is primarily dedicated to handling domestic flights. This terminal is a hub for several major airlines, providing travelers with convenient access to numerous destinations within the United States. Terminal 1 features two concourses, East and West, and offers a total of 14 gates, numbered 5 through 18. Please note that gates 1, 1A, 2, 3, and 4 were demolished in early 2022 to facilitate the ongoing New T1 project.
Travelers passing through Terminal 1 can enjoy a variety of amenities and services designed to enhance their airport experience. These include dining options, retail shops, and other passenger services that cater to both leisure and business travelers. Although Terminal 1 does not currently house any lounges, its amenities are tailored to meet the needs of all passengers.

While there is no automated transport system like a people mover, pedestrian walkways are well-marked and provide easy navigation throughout the terminal. Passengers can also connect to Terminal 2 via shuttle services, offering seamless transfer options for those needing to switch terminals.
A noteworthy feature of Terminal 1 is its ongoing transformation through the New T1 project, which aims to enhance the travel experience with expanded facilities and modernized infrastructure. This development promises to improve the terminal's efficiency and capacity, making it an even more appealing gateway for domestic travelers.
