Terminal 1 Info & Layout
Terminal 1 at Narita International Airport is a pivotal hub for both domestic and international flights. It is strategically designed to accommodate the three major international airline alliances, with SkyTeam carriers utilizing the North Wing and Star Alliance carriers primarily operating from the South Wing. The terminal boasts a total of 40 gates, distributed across its various sections, including two circular satellites in the North Wing and a linear concourse in the Central Building.
The terminal's layout is divided into the North Wing, Central Building, and South Wing, each serving distinct functions and airlines. The North Wing hosts airlines such as Aero Mongolia, Aircalin, Aurora Airlines, and others, while the South Wing serves as a hub for Star Alliance members like All Nippon Airways, along with non-member carriers such as Air Busan and Scoot. Notably, ANA and Peach domestic flights have a dedicated area accessible from the South Wing's arrivals floor.
Terminal 1 offers a wealth of amenities for travelers, including a vast array of shops and restaurants located on the fourth floor of the Central Building. The South Wing features "Narita Nakamise," one of Japan's largest airport duty-free malls, providing travelers with an extensive selection of brand boutiques.
Access to Terminal 1 is facilitated through a combination of pedestrian walkways and automated transport systems. Passengers can seamlessly connect to other terminals within Narita International Airport, ensuring a smooth transit experience. Unique features of Terminal 1 include its spacious design and the efficient processing of check-in, departures, and arrivals across its multiple floors, making it a noteworthy terminal for air travelers.
