Getting Around KUL Airport
Kuala Lumpur International Airport consists of two main terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1, also known as the Main Terminal Building (MTB), is divided into a contact pier and a satellite terminal. The contact pier handles both domestic and international flights, with gates labeled A, B, G, and H. The satellite terminal, connected by a bus service due to the temporary suspension of the Aerotrain, is dedicated to international flights and features gates labeled with the prefix C.
Terminal 2, designed for low-cost carriers, features a main terminal building connected to satellite piers via a skybridge. The boarding gates are organized into five piers: J and K for domestic flights, and L, P, and Q for international flights. Piers K and L share the same physical space but have separate waiting lounges on different levels. The layout is designed to facilitate easy navigation, with clear signage and numerous information desks available to assist travelers.
For those needing to transfer between terminals, a landside connection is available at the Gateway@klia2 complex. Both terminals offer a range of amenities, including free Wi-Fi, prayer rooms, and various dining and shopping options. Travelers are encouraged to utilize the self-service check-in kiosks and multi check-in services to streamline their airport experience.
