Terminal 3 Info & Layout
Terminal 3 at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport is a domestic terminal primarily serving Qantas and QantasLink flights. Originally built for Trans Australia Airlines in 1974, the terminal has evolved significantly, with major extensions completed in 1999. It now covers an area of 80,000 square meters.
Terminal 3 features 14 parking bays served by aerobridges, including two with dual aerobridges, ensuring efficient boarding and disembarkation for passengers. The terminal is known for its extensive amenities, including a large Qantas Club lounge, a dedicated Business Class lounge, and a Chairman's lounge. Additionally, travelers can explore the 'Heritage Collection' near gate 13, which celebrates Qantas's rich history and is a popular spot for plane-spotters due to its view of the airport's apron.
Passengers can access Terminal 3 via an underground train station shared with Terminal 2, providing convenient connectivity between the two domestic terminals. This setup allows for seamless transfers for those with connecting flights. Unique to Terminal 3 is its historical significance, as it incorporates the original airport terminal building from 1940, located near gates 17 to 19.
With its strategic location in the northeastern section of the airport and its focus on providing a premium travel experience, Terminal 3 stands out as a key hub for domestic travel within Australia.
