Getting Around GIG Airport
GIG Airport features two main passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. These terminals are linked by a covered walkway equipped with a travelator, making it easy to move between them without stepping outside. For those needing assistance or preferring not to walk, elevators and escalators are available throughout both terminals. Additionally, automatic doors facilitate easy access for everyone, including travelers with mobility challenges.
Once inside, navigating the terminals is straightforward. Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 offer a variety of services including dining, shopping, and car rental facilities. Terminal 1, serving airlines like Azul and Flyways, and Terminal 2, hosting most international flights, are designed to be user-friendly with clear signage and connected gate areas. If you're looking to relax before your flight, Terminal 1 houses the Rio Aeroporto Hotel on the 3rd floor before security, while Terminal 2 offers the Aerotel Rio de Janeiro after security.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
Rio de Janeiro Airport has security checkpoints located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 has two security checkpoints, one located on the ground floor and the other on the second floor. Terminal 2 has three security checkpoints, one located on the ground floor and two on the second floor. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early to allow enough time for security checks.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Fast Track lanes are available for passengers who wish to expedite their security screening process. These lanes are located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, the Fast Track lane is located on the second floor, near the security checkpoint. In Terminal 2, the Fast Track lane is located on the second floor, near the entrance to the security checkpoint. Passengers who are eligible for the Fast Track lane include those traveling in business or first class, members of certain airline loyalty programs, and passengers who have purchased a Fast Track pass.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control at GIG Airport is located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, passport control is located on the second floor, near the security checkpoint. Immigration control is located on the ground floor, near the baggage claim area. In Terminal 2, passport control is located on the second floor, near the security checkpoint. Immigration control is located on the ground floor, near the baggage claim area. Passengers are advised to have all necessary travel documents ready for inspection by immigration officials.
