When making airline reservations, be sure to mention your special needs, including wheelchair.
At the Asheville Regional Airport, Persons with Disabilities find the following accommodations:
Long- and short-term parking areas have a number of "handicap" spaces. These spaces are located directly across from the main terminal entrance.
Skycaps are available curbside at the main terminal entrance to assist passengers, and help with luggage.
Terminal doors open automatically.
Pay phones are throughout the building at various heights to accommodate wheelchair passengers
TDD device is across in the main terminal lobby
All restrooms have extra-large handicap stalls with assist rails
Wheelchairs are available for use within the airport. Ask your airline for assistance
Elevator to second floor - one is to the left of the escalators as you come through screening
Elevator to Airport Authority Offices - at the Delta Connection end of the airline ticket counters (2d floor)
Passengers with special needs are urged to be the first ones boarding the aircraft. Contact your airline ahead of time to request assistance.
A friend/ attendant who is to accomany you to the aircraft needs to get a special permit at the airline's counter in the departure area of the terminal.
