Getting Around BWI Airport
BWI Airport features five concourses with a total of 78 gates, organized to streamline passenger flow and provide easy access to various services. The concourses are labeled A, B, C, D, and E, each serving different airlines and types of flights. Concourse A/B, which has 30 gates, is exclusively used by Southwest Airlines. Concourse C, with 14 gates, is utilized by Southwest, American, and Contour Airlines. Concourse D, consisting of 23 gates, serves all non-Southwest and American domestic flights, as well as Air Canada. Concourse E, with 11 gates, is dedicated to international flights, including those from Southwest and Spirit Airlines.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
BWI has multiple security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The main security checkpoint is located in the Main Terminal, near the Southwest Airlines ticket counter. There are also security checkpoints located in each of the concourses, including Concourse A, Concourse B, Concourse C, Concourse D, and Concourse E. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time to go through security.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Baltimore Washington Airport offers TSA PreCheck and CLEAR expedited screening programs for eligible passengers. TSA PreCheck lanes are available at the main security checkpoint in the Main Terminal, as well as in each of the concourses. CLEAR lanes are available in the Main Terminal and Concourse D. These programs allow passengers to move through security more quickly by using dedicated lanes and not having to remove their shoes, belts, and light jackets. Passengers interested in these programs should apply and be approved before their travel date.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control at Baltimore Airport is located in the Main Terminal, near the baggage claim area. Passengers arriving from international destinations will need to go through passport control and customs before exiting the airport. The airport has multiple Global Entry kiosks available for expedited processing for approved travelers. Passengers should have their passport and necessary travel documents ready for inspection upon arrival.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At BWI Airport (BWI), there are multiple TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the airport. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to experience expedited security screening, which means they can keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To use TSA Pre Check, passengers must be enrolled in the program and have a TSA Pre Check indicator on their boarding pass. Baggage Claim Areas
Upon arrival at Baltimore Airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim areas in each terminal. The baggage claim areas are located on the lower level of the airport, and are clearly marked with signs and directions.
