Getting from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to your destination:  If taking a taxi - use only authorized taxis!   AOT limo service has a counter in Arrivals, level 2 & charges flat fares).  Bus tickets are available in the Passenger Terminal's Public Transport Center.  Aside from taxi & limo service, the options extend to public vans, the Airport Rail Link, buses, ferry boats, and bus transfers to Muaeng Airport:

By Public Van:
   
Van Routes 549 through 559 (grey with blue Route identification) pick up on level 1, at doors 1 & 8 (tel.  0-2134-0171 , 090-003-2959).

By Train: The train station is in the basement of the Main Terminal, on level B1 - 2 levels below the Arrivals Hall. Tel. 1690, or 02-308-5600, ext. 2906 /07.
 
The new Airport Rail Link operating daily 6a.m. - midnight. Travelers give it high marks, declaring that it is not only comfortable & efficient with onboard announcements in Thai & English - getting you into City Center within 30 mins at only 45 baht (cheaper & faster than taxis) - with easy connections to Bangkok's other elevated & subway systems. (Rush hours are between 7-10am & 4-7pm, when it can get crowded). Also note that currently there is no elevator, you need to carry your bags down to the station and up again.
- Trips on an Express Line train (non-stop to Makkasan) and the City Line train (six stops to Phaya Thai) take each 15 and 27 minutes The ARL (Airport Rail Link) has two interchange stations, the Phaya Thai (changing for BTS Green Line) and the Makkasan (linking Phetchaburi station of the MRT Blue Line).
- the Makkasan station will also serve as the City Airport Terminal with parking and baggage check-in facilities offered to passengers using the Express Line.
(In the future, the ARL will add the SRT Red Line commuter service to Hua Lamphong-Bang Sue-Don Mueang-Rangsit and Taling Chan-Bang Sue-Phaya Thai-Hua Mak. )

By Bus:  Yellow & orange public buses pick up at the Public Transport Center (tel. 02 -246 - 4262 , 081-358-2053):
    Three Bor Kor Sor buses
serve the Airport:  Route 389 to Leamchabang - Pattayya;  route 390 to Chachoengsau - Rongklua Market; and route 825 to Nakhonratchasima - Khonkaen, Unthani & Nongkhai.
    Five BTMA public bus routes 550 through 558 (yellow)
offer a cheaper ride, but passengers need to use a shuttle bus to the transportation center’s bus terminal prior to boarding the regular city buses.  Routes: 550 to Happy Land;  553 to Samut Prakan and 554 to Rangsit; 555 to to Rangsit (different route) and 558 to Samae Dam Garage.
   Buses To/From Ekkamai:  The Arani Experss Buses to /from Ekkamai arrive/ depart from both directions at 8am & 7:40 am.; while the Arani VIP Buses to/from Ekkamai arrive/ depart from both directions at 7am & 7:40am.  The one-way Express Bus costs 63 Bat.

By Boat /Ferry:   Work is in progress on building of a new boat pier on Khlong Saen Saep - intended to link the canal's boat service with the Airport Rail Link between Airport & Bankgkok at Ramkhamhaeng station.

Transfer to the Don Muaeng Airport:

- The free and frequent-running orange Shuttle Bus to Don Muang Airport picks up at the departure level 2, between gates 2 & 3  (present your flight ticket).  Bus service: 5am-12 midnight.
- Public Bus 555 runs every 30 minutes, with 5 stops along the way.
