Getting Around BTR Airport
The passenger terminal is situated on the west side of the airfield, making it the central hub for all commercial flight operations. The terminal is compact and easy to navigate, with clearly marked signs directing passengers to various areas such as ticket counters, security checkpoints, baggage claim, and boarding gates. The terminal is designed to facilitate smooth movement, ensuring that passengers can quickly and efficiently get to their destinations within the airport.
Upon entering the terminal, passengers will find the ticket counters and check-in areas conveniently located near the entrance. After checking in, travelers proceed to the security checkpoint, which is centrally located and leads directly to the concourse area where the boarding gates are situated. Amenities such as restrooms, dining options, and retail shops are available throughout the terminal, providing necessary conveniences without requiring long walks.

Security & Screening

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
Passengers departing from the airport will find security checkpoints located at the entrance of each terminal. There are two terminals at the airport, and each terminal has its own security checkpoint. The security checkpoints are equipped with the latest technology to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
BTR offers Fast Track lanes for passengers who want to expedite their security screening process. The Fast Track lanes are located at both terminals, and they are available to passengers who have TSA PreCheck or CLEAR membership. These lanes are designed to provide a faster and more efficient security screening process for eligible passengers. Passengers who are not eligible for Fast Track lanes can still use the regular security lanes.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passengers arriving at Baton Rouge Airport from international destinations will go through passport and immigration control at the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) area. The CBP area is located in the baggage claim area of the terminal. Passengers will need to present their passport and other required documents to the CBP officers for inspection. After clearing passport and immigration control, passengers can proceed to the baggage claim area to collect their luggage.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
Baton Rouge Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to enjoy expedited screening at security checkpoints. This program is available for U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents. TSA Pre Check members are not required to remove their shoes, belts, and light jackets during the screening process. They can also keep their laptops and liquids inside their carry-on bags. Passengers who wish to enroll in TSA Pre Check can apply online or in-person at an enrollment center.

Global Entry Locations
BTR Airport is not a Global Entry Enrollment Center, but there are several locations nearby where travelers can apply for Global Entry. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Members of Global Entry can use automated kiosks to complete their customs declaration and biometric verification. To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. The nearest enrollment centers to the airport are located in New Orleans and Houston.
CLEAR Lane Locations

Baggage Claim Areas
Upon arrival at Baton Rouge Airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim area. The airport has two baggage claim carousels located in the main terminal building. The carousels are clearly marked with flight information and airline logos, making it easy for passengers to identify which carousel to go to. Baggage carts are available near the baggage claim area for passengers to use free of charge.
