Terminal 1 Info & Layout
Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport serves as a hub for domestic flights and certain international low-cost carriers. Originally the main terminal before the opening of Terminal 3, Terminal 1 has been repurposed to accommodate the growing demand for budget-friendly air travel options. Notable airlines operating from this terminal include Vueling and easyJet, providing connections to destinations such as Barcelona, London, Manchester, Geneva, and Basel.
Terminal 1 features a total of 8 gates, catering to both domestic and international low-cost flights. The terminal is equipped with a variety of amenities to enhance the passenger experience, including duty-free shops, restaurants, and cafes, as well as advanced baggage handling and screening systems. Unique design elements reflect the diverse landscapes of Israel, with public halls themed around the Judean, Jerusalem, and Galilee mountains.
Access to Terminal 1 is facilitated by a free shuttle service that operates approximately every 15 to 30 minutes, connecting it to Terminal 3 and the airport's railway station. This service ensures seamless connectivity for passengers transferring between terminals. While departing passengers complete check-in, security screening, and passport control at Terminal 1, arriving passengers are processed through Terminal 3, maintaining efficient operations across the airport.
A noteworthy feature of Terminal 1 is its VIP wing, which caters to private jet passengers and crews, offering exclusive services such as deluxe lounges, meeting rooms, and press conference facilities. This expansion highlights the terminal's commitment to providing tailored experiences for all types of travelers.
