Getting Around YYC Airport

YYC Airport features two main passenger terminals: one dedicated to domestic flights and another for United States and international flights. The Domestic Terminal, operational since 1977, includes four concourses labeled A1, A2, B, and C. Concourses A1 and A2 primarily serve WestJet for regional and other domestic flights, while Concourse B is utilized by multiple airlines for domestic routes. Concourse C mainly caters to Air Canada. The International Terminal, opened in 2016, is organized into Concourse D for all non-US international flights and some domestic flights, and Concourse E exclusively for US-bound flights. This terminal is equipped with a US customs preclearance facility, streamlining the process for passengers traveling to the United States.

Getting from one terminal to the other is facilitated by a 620-meter walkway, which also accommodates the YYC Link Passenger Shuttles. These shuttles are ten-seat electric vehicles designed to help passengers with tight connecting flights traverse the distance between terminals more efficiently. Despite criticisms regarding the terminal distances, these shuttles serve as a helpful option for navigating the airport's layout. Additionally, each terminal is structured with multiple levels, housing everything from check-in desks and security checkpoints to dining areas and lounges, ensuring that all passenger needs are met within close proximity to their respective gates.
