Getting Around ERI Airport
The airport features a single passenger terminal building, which has undergone several expansions and renovations since its initial construction in 1958. The terminal is compact and user-friendly, making it easy for travelers to navigate. The first floor of the terminal, which covers approximately 43,200 square feet, houses essential facilities including the baggage claim area, check-in desks, rental car counters, a café, the TSA checkpoint, and boarding gate areas.
For those looking to find their way around, the terminal is organized into clearly marked sections. The check-in desks and baggage claim are located near the main entrance, while the security checkpoint leads to the boarding gates. There are seven gates in total, with four equipped with jetbridges for regional aircraft. Currently, American Eagle operates from Gates 5 and 7. The recent renovations also include a reconfigured public waiting area and an in-terminal restaurant that provides airside access, allowing passengers to enjoy a meal or drink after clearing security.
To make your way through the terminal efficiently, follow these tips:
- Arrive early to allow ample time for check-in and security screening, especially during peak travel times.
- Look for clear signage directing you to various facilities such as restrooms, rental car counters, and boarding gates.
- Utilize the café and restaurant for refreshments, particularly if you have a long wait before your flight.

These checkpoints are equipped with advanced technology to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and their belongings. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
ERI offers a Fast Track program for passengers who want to expedite their security screening process. The Fast Track program is available for a fee and can be purchased online or at the airport. The Fast Track lanes are located at both security checkpoints in the terminal building. Passengers who use the Fast Track lanes can expect to go through security screening in a shorter amount of time compared to the regular lanes.

Here, passengers will be required to present their passport and any necessary travel documents to the immigration officer. After passing through passport control, passengers will be directed to the baggage claim area to collect their luggage. It is important to note that customs and immigration procedures may vary depending on the passenger's country of origin and destination.

At Erie Airport, TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints are available to ensure a smooth and efficient security screening process for all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to enjoy expedited screening at security checkpoints. To qualify for TSA Pre Check, passengers must undergo a background check and meet other eligibility requirements.
