Getting Around GVA Airport

Geneva Airport features two main passenger terminals, Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2), with T1 being the primary hub. T1 is divided into five piers labeled A, B, C, D, and F. Piers A, B, C, and D are accessible through the central security check located above the main check-in hall. These piers cater to both Schengen and non-Schengen flights, with specific areas designated for each. For instance, Pier A directly serves Schengen area destinations and is conveniently situated near the main shopping zone, making it easy to navigate for shopping and dining before your flight.

For non-Schengen flights, you'll find Piers B and D equipped with underground walkways for easy access. These piers also house passport control checkpoints to manage international travel requirements efficiently. If you're traveling to or from French destinations, Pier F operates as the French Sector, allowing direct access to French territory. This setup is particularly beneficial for travelers looking to bypass Swiss customs. For seasonal operations, particularly during the winter charter season, Terminal 2 comes into play, primarily handling low-cost and charter flights. It's important to note that T2 offers limited facilities and requires a bus transfer to reach the main piers of T1 for most services.
