Navigating LOS's Terminals
Lagos Airport has two terminals: the General Aviation Terminal and the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two(MMA2). The GAT is a private terminal used by corporate and private jets, while the MMA2 is the main terminal used by commercial airlines. MMA2 has 14 gates and is used by major airlines such as Arik Air, Dana Air, and Med-View Airline.
When arriving at LOS, passengers will go through immigration and customs before entering the baggage claim area. After collecting their luggage, passengers can proceed to the arrivals hall to meet their transportation or head to the departures area if they have a connecting flight or are leaving the airport.
The departures area is located on the upper level of MMA2 and can be accessed by escalators or elevators. Passengers will need to check in for their flight and go through security before reaching the gate area. There are several shops and restaurants located throughout the terminal, including duty-free stores, souvenir shops, and fast food restaurants.
Use our interactive airport map to locate food, services, and airline departure gates.
Connecting Between Terminals
At LOS Airport, there is only one terminal, so passengers do not need to worry about getting between terminals. However, there are several amenities available within the terminal, including shops, restaurants, and lounges, so passengers can easily walk around and explore the airport while waiting for their flights.
Frequent Flier Tips
To help make your experience at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we’ve gathered the best advice and tips from LOS-based frequent travelers, flight attendants, pilots, and airport staff. Their first-hand insights are sure to provide you with valuable guidance. Here’s what they have to say:
Navigating the Terminals
"Murtala Muhammed International Airport has two main terminals: the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal. The International Terminal is quite large, so give yourself extra time to navigate through security and immigration. Look for the information desks if you need help finding your way." — Aisha K., Ikeja, Lagos, August 2023
"If you're connecting from an international to a domestic flight, be prepared for a bit of a walk between terminals. There are clear signs, but it can still be confusing, especially during peak hours. Allow at least two hours for connections." — Tunde A., Mushin, Lagos, July 2023
Getting To/From the City
"For a hassle-free trip to the city, I recommend using the airport shuttle services. They are reliable and much safer than some of the local taxis. You can book them in advance to save time." — Chika O., Surulere, Lagos, September 2023
"If you prefer a more private option, ride-hailing services like Uber and Bolt are available and can pick you up right outside the terminal. Just make sure to confirm your driver's details before getting in." — Emeka N., Victoria Island, Lagos, October 2023
Parking
"The airport's parking facilities are quite extensive, but they can get crowded, especially during holidays. I always use the long-term parking if I'm traveling for more than a week. It's a bit farther from the terminal, but there are shuttle buses that run frequently." — Funmi E., Ikeja, Lagos, November 2023
"For short trips, the multi-story car park near the Domestic Terminal is convenient and reasonably priced. Just make sure to arrive early to find a good spot." — Adewale T., Yaba, Lagos, December 2023
Inside the Airport
"If you're looking for a quick bite, the food court in the International Terminal has a variety of options, from local Nigerian dishes to international fast food. It's a great place to grab something before your flight." — Ngozi M., Lekki, Lagos, January 2024
"Don't miss the duty-free shops! They have a great selection of perfumes, cosmetics, and local crafts. It's a perfect place to pick up last-minute gifts." — Kemi S., Ikorodu, Lagos, February 2024
Avoiding Delays and Stress
"One of the best ways to avoid delays is to travel early in the morning or late at night. These times are usually less crowded, and security lines move faster." — Olumide J., Apapa, Lagos, March 2024
"Always check the flight status online before leaving for the airport. Delays are common, and it's better to know in advance rather than waiting at the terminal." — Femi L., Agege, Lagos, April 2024

Picking Up and Dropping Off Passengers
At LOS, picking up and dropping off passengers is a breeze. The airport has designated curbside areas for passenger drop-off and pick-up, but there are restrictions on how long vehicles can stay in these areas. Drivers dropping off passengers are advised to use the curbside areas for a maximum of two minutes, while those picking up passengers should use the curbside areas for a maximum of five minutes.
If you need to wait for your arriving passenger, the airport has a cell-phone waiting area where you can park your vehicle for free and wait for your passenger to call you when they are ready to be picked up. This area is located a short distance from the terminal building and has a maximum waiting time of 30 minutes. It's important to note that there is no parking allowed on the curbside areas outside the terminal building, so if you need to wait for your passenger, the cell-phone waiting area is the best option.
Parking Facilities & Options
If you're flying out of LOS Airport, you'll find several parking options available to suit your needs. The airport offers both covered and uncovered parking in its lots and garages, with easy access to the terminal building. If you're picking up a passenger, there are also cell phone waiting areas available where you can wait for your party to arrive before heading to the terminal.
For those with disabilities, designated handicapped parking spaces are available in all parking areas, with convenient access to the terminal building.
If you're looking for a more economical parking option, off-airport parking is available nearby. These lots offer shuttle service to and from the airport, making it easy to get to your flight on time without breaking the bank.
