Long Beach Airport features a single terminal with 11 gates, making navigation straightforward and manageable. The compact layout ensures that all essential services and amenities are within easy walking distance. The terminal is divided into two main areas: the main concourse and the boarding area. Upon entering the terminal, travelers will find the check-in counters and security screening area. To help travelers move efficiently within the terminal, clear signage is posted throughout, directing passengers to gates, restrooms, baggage claim, and other key locations. For those needing assistance, information desks staffed by friendly personnel are available to provide guidance. Additionally, there are plenty of seating areas and charging stations to ensure a comfortable wait before boarding. Frequent Flier Terminal Tips

To help you navigate the airport terminals with ease, we’ve gathered the best advice and tips from LGB-based frequent travelers, flight attendants, pilots, and airport staff. Their first-hand insights will guide you through the terminals for a smoother journey. Here’s what they have to say:

Navigating the Airport

"Long Beach Airport is small but mighty. The terminal can be navigated quickly, especially if you use the interactive map on the airport's website beforehand. It helps to know exactly where your gate is, so you can head straight there and avoid any confusion." — Maria S., Long Beach, CA, December 2023

"If you’re connecting flights, the compact layout of LGB is a lifesaver. You don’t have to rush between gates as they are all within a short walking distance. Just follow the clear signage and you’ll be fine." — John D., Lakewood, CA, January 2024

Amenities & Services

"Don’t miss the outdoor palm garden if you have some time before your flight. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the California weather. Plus, it’s right next to the main concourse, so you won’t miss your flight." — Emily R., Signal Hill, CA, February 2024

"For a quick bite, head to the California Pizza Kitchen. It’s conveniently located and offers some delicious options. If you’re in a hurry, the grab-and-go options at Hudson News are also great." — Carlos M., Huntington Beach, CA, March 2024

Security

"The TSA PreCheck line at LGB is usually pretty short, but it’s always a good idea to arrive early, especially during peak travel times. The Fast Track lane near the baggage claim area can also save you a lot of time." — Sarah L., Seal Beach, CA, April 2024

Security & Screening

In this section, you will learn about the various security and screening options available at the airport. Discover the locations of security checkpoints, the benefits and locations of Fast Track lanes, and details about TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints. Additionally, find information on the CLEAR program, Global Entry locations, and how to renew or enroll in TSA PreCheck for a faster travel experience. This guide aims to make your security screening process as smooth and efficient as possible.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

LGB Airport has two security checkpoints located in the terminal building. The first checkpoint is located on the ground floor near the baggage claim area, while the second checkpoint is located on the upper level near the entrance to the concourse. Both checkpoints are equipped with standard screening equipment and procedures.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

The airport offers a Fast Track program for passengers who want to expedite their security screening process. The Fast Track program allows passengers to use a dedicated lane at the security checkpoint, which can significantly reduce wait times. The Fast Track lane is located at the first security checkpoint on the ground floor near the baggage claim area. The program is available to all passengers for a fee, and can be purchased online or at the airport.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

LGB does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations within the airport. However, passengers traveling internationally can connect to other airports in the United States that offer these services. It is important for passengers to check the requirements for their specific destination and ensure they have the necessary travel documents before departing from Long Beach Airport.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

Long Beach Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints for passengers to go through security screening. The TSA Pre Checkpoint allows eligible passengers to go through a faster screening process, without having to remove their shoes, belts, or light jackets. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check program.

Need to know the wait times at the security checkpoints? Visit this TSA wait times page.

Global Entry Locations

LGB Airport does not have a Global Entry Enrollment Center, but there are several locations nearby where passengers can apply for Global Entry. The closest enrollment center is located at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. To apply for Global Entry, passengers must complete an online application and schedule an in-person interview at an enrollment center.

CLEAR Lane Locations

CLEAR Plus lanes are located in the Main Terminal on the TSA PreCheck® screening side.
